Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to regularly examine the relationship between exercise dependence and general self-efficacy in fitness centers. In this study, a total of 476 people engaged in sports at the fitness centers in Eskişehir and Bilecik provinces and districts over 30 years of age. As a data collection tool, a three-part questionnaire was used. The first part of the survey is demographic questions. 17-item Exercise Dependence Scale developed by Demir, Hazar and Cicioğlu (2018) and the 17-item General Self-Efficacy Scale developed by Yıldırım and İlhan (2010) were used to determine general self-efficacy with exercise dependence. In order to determine the meaningful differences (p 0.05) in SPSS 21 statistical program, t-test, independent sample, correlation and ANOVA analysis methods were used. There are 17 hypotheses and 17 hypotheses were accepted. According to the results of ANOVA and t-test, it was concluded that exercise dependence has significant differences according to gender, marital status, age, general self-efficacy level, exercise age, marital status and income level. As a result of the correlation analysis, it was concluded that there was a significant correlation between exercise dependence and self-efficacy levels. According to the findings of the study, we can say that the general self-efficacy level of the person addicted to exercise is high. The findings of this study support other studies in the literature. However, further studies should be carried out in this area. Key words: Exercise Commitment, Exercise Dependent, Physical Exercise, SelfEfficacy
