Özet (EN)
in ABSTRACT The Determination and Possibility of Improvement of Wear Resistance of Plow Iron Cemil ÇETİNKAYA P.h.D Thesis Gazi University Institute of Science and Technology 1994 In this study the effect of heat treatment on the wear resistance of plow iron materials was investigated. For this reason, different heat treatments were applied to the plain carbon steel which were suqqested by TSE (Turkish Standards Institution) These experimental materials were examined under optical and scanning electron microscopes together with to Rockwell Hardenss and surface wear resistance measurements. The plow irons were tested without welding in arable field and sand pool and with welding only in sand pool. The results showed that wear resistance of plow iron was dependent on the hardness. While the softest (28 HRC) and the hardest (51 HRC) samples showed poor wear resistance, the sample with medium hardness (39 HRC) exhibited the best wear resistance. While the wear resistance of plow irons was decreasing by moving from the front to the back it was noticed that plow kon in the forth position showed less wear resistance value than the first one and more than the other two.
