Abstract (EN)

Russian Federation was in the process of collapse in social, economic, geopolitic and political issues after the Soviet Union downfall. On one hand, the process of NATO?s expansion eastward began; on the other hand Russian Federation faced with sudden poverty of Russian society having passed from socialist economy to market economy. Oligarchs emerged with privatization of state property playing a monopoly role in many sectors, which degenerated of spiritual values, damaged centre-neighbour relations and led to the decline of government?s effects of events developing in the world.Yeltsin turned back the decline process of country?s political and economic life and left his place to Vladimir Putin. Recovery in domestic politics and the national economy provided implementing foreign policy?s target effectively. In 2000s Russian Foreign policy liberated ideological concerns in Soviet era and the pro-western stance in Yeltsin era. It kept consistency and permanency in both expression and action. Moreover, diplomacy gained dynamism and effective vehicles of foreign policy and multi-faceted cooperation opportunities were increased. On one hand, in domestic policy Putin strengthened his own position by attenuating the major powers that were independent in politic and economic life. Putin challenged oligarchs and increased state control on press and economy. By doing that, Putin recovered national economy by using Russian natural resources like natural gas as an important trump card against other countries. In foreign policy Putin worked to strengthen Russia?s position in the world by promoting multi-polarity. Russia continued to play a significant role in many processes occurring in the world with its economic, technological, military capacity and its strategic location in Eurasia. It also strengthened its relations with other countries as a matter of national interest. President Putin restructured Russia and made his country one of the regional major powers.
