The Importance and significence of Schumann's "Youth Album" in piano education

The general purpose of this study is to reveal the advantages of using analytical procedures in studying the piano education repertory. Appropriately, the population is determined as the material of piano education repertory and then R.Schumann's 'Youth Album is taken as a representative sample. In this descriptive field study, In order to determine why this album takes place in piano education and what kind of behaviours does it make students acquire, method of authority is employed as data collection method. Upon collecting data, The significance and importance of Schumann's 'Youth Album' is stressed again; and some suggestions about student's accurate performance of piece, developing the piano playing technique, learning the song's form comrehensively are made after analyzing samples. Moreover, the fact that the pieces of the album are joyfull and efficient educational materials because of their representing every day living, or animating the charactersIV from folklore or literature, reflects the feelings of Schumann in his own family is underlined again.
