Abstract (EN)

Radiation is emitted in the form of waves, particles or energy packets called photons. Radio waves that provide radio and television communication, x-rays used in medicine, sunlight, etc. It is one of the types of radiation we are used to in our daily life. The rapid development of radiology and nuclear technology, intensive research and development studies on the use of radiation in medicine have led to the establishment of nuclear medicine. Radiation-containing fields such as Radiology and Nuclear Medicine not only have positive effects on people, but also have negative effects. Radiation, which threatens human health significantly, creates an excessive workload, especially in the health sector, and can cause a number of psychological conditions. One of the psychological conditions observed in health workers, which is one of the effects of radiation, is known as burnout syndrome. Individuals should feel comfortable and happy in their work environment. Because when the individual encounters some undesirable situations in the workplace, he and the people around him are unavoidably affected negatively. The symptoms of burnout are loss of material and moral values, inability to overcome problems, depersonalization, constantly feeling unsuccessful, substance use disorder, depression and psychological disorders. These symptoms can cause serious consequences if precautions are not taken. In this study, it is aimed to determine the awareness of burnout in healthcare workers working with ionizing radiation sources. The study was carried out on 154 health workers working in various units of hospitals, and the results were analyzed using the SPSS 24.0 program.
