Abstract (EN)

So many instruments have been used for making soft tissue incisions, while performing surgery. Among these instruments; conventional scalpels are the ones, which had been used most for years. That is why, an established experience in the clinicians about the usage of the conventional scalpels had been occured. The conventional scalpels have the ability to perform a precise incision with their ease of use. Consequently; the contribution of the conventional scalpels to the clinician is great in the way of being successful after surgery. On the other hand; the conventional scalpels? characteristics of not forming lateral heat, that is harmful for surrounding tissues, not sticking to tissues and having a low cost, have made them become the most prefered instruments in the surgical operationsHowever, the conventional scalpels are not sufficient regarding the control of bleeding (hemostasis), which is formed while surgery. From time to time, the bleeding caused by the usage of conventional scalpels, prevent the clinicians to see the operation site clearly. Occasionally; while performing soft tissue incisions in the surgical operations, the tissues are recquired to be coagulated. Thus, a necessity of forming a plug arises in order to obtain no bleeding in the area. In addition to this, vasculary injuries that can be caused by the conventional scalpels during major surgical operations and exess bleeding may have a negative effect on the success of surgeryNevertheless; the exicion of the tissues with small volume can not be done sufficiently because the conventional scalpels need the clinician to find a support for themselves, a stable tissue or something, in order to be effective. If the soft tissue surface is not considered to be always wet and slippery, it is declared that the usage of the conventional scalpels without having any support, may cause unwanted incisions or make the tissue become overwhelmedFor this reason, the investigators have made plenty of studies, regarding the methods alternative to the conventional scalpels. The electrosurgery and the lasers come in the lead of these methods. The radiosurgery is another method, even if it is rarely investigated. In this study; the conventional scalpels had been compared with radiosurgery and the electrosurgery about the general wound healing process and the instrument performanceIn the 3 methods that were compared in our study, no statistically difference had been found on wound healing process and inflammatory reaction potential. Each of these 3 methods? some kind of spesific characteristics had appeared, if the methods are evaluated about instrument performanceFrom this point of view;?When compared to other methods, electrosurgery method have a better performance regarding hemostasis.?The conventional scalpels are superior, when evaluated with the other surgical methods regarding tissue sticking and tissue coagulation.?The radiosurgery method has the only superiority on hemostasis when compared to the conventional scalpels, but is not successful as the electrosurgery method.?The conventional scalpels have some advantages when compared to the other surgical methods about the unwanted stres and lateral heat during surgery, but this advantage were found statistically meaningless in our study.
