Özet (EN)

The treatment that is named radiotherapy in cancer treatment is performed using by gamma rays, x rays and electron beams, which directly irradiate the tumor. It is momentous that healthy cells, which surrounds tumor, must be prevented againest fatal dose of radiation. For this reason, determination of optimum conditions is important. In vitality of human life, simulation techniques are being used frequently in clinical applications and scientific researches. Linear accelerators are currently used as the source of particle and photon beams. In this study, by using Monte Carlo techniques, we performed various calculations to obtain more accurate data of dose distribution in tissue. Also we calculated linear accelerator output spectrums. For this purpose, heads of three different LINACs have been modeled in BEAM Monte Carlo code. In addition to this, we prepared 3D models of different LINACs and designs of their components. Basic components of a head of LINAC (filters, target, mirror, collimator, multi leaf collimators, etc.) were modeled using Yegin?s Multi-Geometry (MG) technique. In calculations for heads of EX16MVp and NRC10MV LINACs dose distributions in water medium and output spectrum were obtained. 3D models of linear accelerators (e.g. EX16MVp and NRC10MV ) added EGS-mg Multi-Geometry database.
