Abstract (EN)

Altough particle accelerators seem to have been developed for physics research, they are increasingly used in different areas, e.g., medicine, indurstry, agriculture etc. Since the advent of x-rays, accelerators have played an important role in imaging and radiotherapy throughout the world. In radiotherapy, accelerators are used in a wide range of different devices integrated. An accelerator acccelerate both electrons and prıotons and can be applied remotely to areas to be treated in cancer treatments. The aim of the treatment techniques used in radiotherapy is to provide maximum protection of intact tissues and critical organs while delivering homogeneous doses focused on small target volumes. In this study, systems using particle accelerators used in medicine, especially in cancer treatment and their working priciples have been reviewed.
