Özet (EN)

In this study, the energy losses in unit length (or stopping power) of protons and carbons as heavy ions used in radiotherapy, during their movements in the , were theoretically calculated for water, TLD-500 and lung by using two analytical equation. One of these equations is the mass stopping power equation suggested by Bethe-Bloch (1930-1933) and modified by Tsoulfanidis (1995). The other one has been obtained by substituting efective z (z *), Z (Z *) and I (I *) values, which are used for electrons in literature, into equation reported by Tsoulfanidis. Although the energy range of protons and heavy ions is 75-200 MeV in the radiotherapy, in this study 0,001-10000MeV energy ranges was performed to identify the stopping power at lower and higher energy levels. The results are compared with ``NIST PSTAR Data Base??, ?SRIM 2011?, ?MSTAR? and literature.Key Words : Stopping power, TLD-500, Dosimetry, Radiation dose
