Abstract (EN)

This study aims to examine the musical forms that take shape within the framework of the religious, social and cultural dimensions of the month of Ramadan. The month of Ramadan is not only limited to fasting and worship, but also draws attention as a special time period in which social solidarity, spiritual depth and cultural production are intensified. In this context, music has become an inseparable part of Ramadan as a versatile form of expression that both enriches religious rituals and makes socio-cultural activities meaningful. In this thesis, religious ceremonies specific to the month of Ramadan are examined first; the role of traditional religious music forms such as ezan, iqamet, ilahi, kaside, na't, tevshih, mawlid, temcid-munajaat and sala in practices such as Quran recitation, mukabele, tarawih prayer, and peace lessons are examined. Then, the contribution of music to socio-cultural activities such as Hırka-i Şerif and Sakal-ı Şerif visits, iftar tables and Ramadan aids was evaluated. The last section focused on the musical elements used in non-religious activities such as Hacivat-Karagöz plays, fasıl music and konak entertainments. As a result of the research, it has been seen that the musical forms performed during Ramadan bring together individual worship with aesthetics and play important roles in terms of social unity and cultural continuity. These traditional musical forms not only deepen religious feelings but also play a decisive role in creating the spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan that remains in people's memories. Within the scope of the study, various suggestions were made to archive musical forms, examine them academically and increase promotional activities aimed at young people in order to preserve this cultural heritage and pass it on to future generations. As a result, Ramadan music is considered an indispensable element in keeping both religious and cultural identities alive. Key words: Religious Music, Musical Forms, Ramadan tır.
