Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted to determine the growth factors in the serum of broiler chickens whose diets were supplemented with probiotics, pomegranate peel powder and mixtures. The control group was fed with basal feed, while the other groups were fed ad libitum with feeds containing probiotics (1.5 g/kg), pomegranate peel powder (3 g/kg), and probiotics (1.5 g/kg) + pomegranate peel powder (3 g/kg) added to the basal feed. The trial lasted for 42 days. Serum was obtained from blood taken from the animals in the study. Growth hormone (GH), Insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1) and Leptin values in serum were determined by the Elisa method. Serum IGF-1 level was found to be significantly lower in the probiotic (PR) and Pomegranate peel (NK) groups than in the control group (p=0.015; 0.043, respectively) (p<0.05). Serum Leptin level was found to be significantly lower in probiotic (PR) and Probiotic + Pomegranate Peel (PR+NK) groups than in control and Pomegranate Peel (NK) groups (p<0.05). Serum leptin level in the PR group and NK+PR group was significantly lower than the Control and Pomegranate peel (NK) groups (p<0.05). Serum Growth Hormone level was found to be significantly lower in the probiotic (PR) and Pomegranate Peel (NK) control and Probiotic + Pomegranate Peel (PR+NK) groups (p<0.05). New studies can be conducted with lower and higher doses to determine the effective doses of pomegranate peel powder on growth success in broiler chickens.
