Abstract (EN)

2. ABSTRACTTHE INVESTIGATION OF CHEMICAL FLAP DELAY BY APPLICATIONOF NICOTINE IN RAT SKIN FLAPSFlaps are used often in plastic surgery. Flap necrosis is important problemstill despite developments in knowledges of blood flow of flaps and techniqueswhich are used in flap surgery. Several drugs and methods had been tried to detainflap necrosis. But it couldn?t found an ideally method to impede flap necrosis. Thesurgical delay is the most effective technique which known to prevent necrosis.Surgical delay tecnique is improving of blood flow and tolerance of flap toischemia by creating controlled ischemic environment which done by partiallyelevation of flap. Surgical delay technique is not preferred because of it was anadditional procedure before operation. Therefor many trials had been maken whichwill able to take stay of surgical delay technique and is more practical. It hadn?t beenfound any rival method to surgical delay technique in results of studies yet.In this study chemical delay was performed benefit by vasoconstrictor andangiogenetic effects of nicotine. Chemical delay was achieved by application ofnicotine plaster to distal of areas which are skin flaps planned in rats.In the study mean lived flap areas were found %48.71 in control group and%81.42 in the chemical delay group which are performed by nicotine. The differencebetween survived areas of flaps of two groups has been found statistically significant(p<0.05).Key words: Nicotine, delay, skin flap2
