Abstract (EN)
This study performed to investigate Rosmarinus officinalis extract effects to improve skin flap survival or has not.In the study 21 wistar albino rats were used. Rats divided in to 3 groups which have 7 rats. To individuals of group 1, 30 minutes then 0,5 ml physiolegial serum has carried out flaps were elevated. It has carried out 0,5 ml physiolegial serum twice inday for a week after flaps were sutured to their site. 30 minutes after 0.5 cc rosemary has carried out to the group 2 were raised. After suturing of flaps to their location, it has carried out rosemary twice daily for a week. Flaps were raised after 0.5 cc rosemary has carried out twice a day for a week to group 3 individuals. 0.5 cc rosemary was used twice in day for a week then flaps were sutured to their site.Flaps are evaluated a week after they were sutured. Survived areas of each flaps are calculated by dijital planimater. Mean percentage of survived areas of flaps was found % 29.81 in group 1, % 58.99 in group 2 and % 67.68 in group 3. When survived areas of flaps of both rosemary applied groups compared with survived areas of flaps of control group, flap viability was significantly increased (p<0.05).Rosmarinus officinalis is a plant that has antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-proliferative, anti-inflammator, anticarcinogenic effects. The results show that topical use of Rosmarinus officinalis extracts can increase flap survavility.
