Abstract (EN)

Aim: In this study, it was aimed to investigate the protective efficacy of H2S donor NaHS and sulphurous dried apricots in experimental acute kidney injury induced by Dichloro-[1.3-dialkibenzimidazole-2-ylidene] triethylphosphineplatin (II) in rats. Material and method: In our study 40 Male Wistar albino rats weighing 250-350 g 3-5 months old, were used. Working groups: Control group (n=10), Platinum complex group (n=10), Platinum complex + Sulfur apricot group (n=10) and, Platinum complex + NaHS group (n=10). CSE, SOD, CAT, GPx enzyme activities and GSH, GSSG and MDA levels were measured manually using spectrophotometric methods. Urea, creatinine, Na, K, Cl, Ca, ALT, AST levels were measured in blood serum using the kit with the help of a biochemistry autoanalyzer (Abbott C 16000). Blood antiplatelet activity measurement was measured using the Chrono Log Antiplatelet Analyzer 200 system with the help of epinephrine and collagen kit. Histopathological evaluations İnönü University Faculty of Medicine Histology Embryology Dept. carried out by Kidney tissues stored in formaldehyde were subjected to histological examination after Hematoxylin&Eosin staining. Result: As a result of the experimental research; In the results of GPx, MDA, Total GSH, ALT, AST, creatinine, urea, epinephrine, and collagen, sulphurous dried apricots and NaHS were found to be therapeutically significant (p<0.05). CAT, SOD, Reduced GSH, Red/Total GSH, CSE. In terms of CA, Na, K, Cl levels, no effect of sulphurous dried apricot and NaHS on cisplatin complex damage mechanism was observed. (p<0.05). Histologically significant results were obtained. Conclusion: When the results were evaluated, it was concluded that the use of sulphurous dried apricots with known antioxidant properties and NaHS, which is the donor of H2S, can be used as a reliable and potential supportive agent against nephrotoxicity caused by platinum complexes.
