EVALUATION OF ALTERNATIVE REACTIVE GROUPSON REACTIVE TEXTILE DYES(Ph. D. Thesis)Mustafa TUTAKGAZI UNIVERSITYINSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYDecember 2006ABSTRACTUse of reactive dyes have increased gradually on coloration of textile products. This group appreciated with easily applicable method, high fastness properties, all color shades and their brillants. In this study, tetrazine was applied as a newreactive group and dyeing performance was experimentally evaluated. For thispurpose, dyeing yields were calculated at different temperatures and depths, color coordinates and fastnesses were determined; these values were comparedwith those of triazinyl dyes. It was observed that the efficiency ofmonochlorotetrazinyl dyes was lower than that of dichlorotriazinyl ones;however, the difference between efficiencies is not very high and energyconsumption decreases because cotton can be dyed at mild conditions.Science Code : 912.1.128Key Words : Reactive dyes, tetrazine, cotton, exhaustion, fixationPage Number : 149Adviser : Prof. Dr. Ahmet ALICILAR
