Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, two amphibian pathogens were identified on endemic Pelophylax caralitanus, which is located in Beyşehir Lake in Beyşehir, Konya and listed as Near Threatened (NT) on Red List by IUCN and also known as to be decreasing, using the Real – Time PCR (quantitative PCR, qPCR) technique. Beyşehir Lake is the biggest freshwater lake in Turkey. That two amphibian pathtogens are Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis and Ranavirus [Frog virüs, (FV-3)]. Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis causes Chytridiomycosis and Ranavirus causes Red–Leg deadly disases. In Beyşehir Lake, presence or absence of that pathogen organisms was determined for the first time using qPCR technique with specific primers. Anatolian marsh frogs (Pelophylax caralitanus) were collected from 4 different localities of Beyşehir lake in 2012 and 2013 years. End of the laboratuary studies, results of Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis detection experiment were nearly 54,23 of percentage positively and results of Ranavirüs [Frog virus (FV-3)] were 30,23 of percentage positively. As a result, that two important pathogens which responsible extiction of amphibians; Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis (Bd) fungi and Ranavirus (Iridoviridae) are threat to economical and ecological important species and biodiversity.
