Abstract (EN)

Today, along with rapidly growing technology, electromagnetic pollution and its harmful effects are increasing in an uncontrolled manner. New technology products that are parts of our lives have become the main cause of electromagnetic pollution. International scientific organizations and communities have taken this issue under the spotlight; in this context, the limit values and standards were established. In this thesis, electromagnetic pollution in the Central Campus of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University was examined. In this context, at certain times of the day, electromagnetic pollution measurements were taken at 21 different locations. During these measurements, a compact spectrum analyzer device (Narda Safety Test Solutions GmbH, Germany) working in the range of 400 MHz to 6 GHz band was used together with its three-axis antenna. The results of these measurements have been compared with the standard values, which were declared by the ICNIRP and Information Technology Authority. Electromagnetic pollution rate has not been found in a dangerous level. In continuation of the study, the measured power density values were entered into the Surfer 8 software. The data showing the dense electromagnetic pollution regions were obtained. These data were combined with the digital map that belongs to the university campus area in order to identify the dense electromagnetic pollution regions. As the result of the study, a colored map that represents the level of the electromagnetic pollution caused by radiation has been generated. Also, risky campus regions in terms of electromagnetic pollution were detected.
