This thesis provides an alternative interpretation to the traditional interpretation of the concept of chôra in the dialogue of Timaeus. Regarding the traditional Platonic interpretation, the chôra is a passive matter, but we maintain that it cannot be interpreted as passive. In order to achieve this goal, we will first focus on the role attributed to it in the history of philosophy, and the problems arising from this interpretation of the chôra will be discussed. The chôra must be interpreted beyond and below all the dichotomies.
