Abstract (EN)

The aim of this master thesis is to study the significance and function of the term ?reduction? in Husserl's philosophy. The thesis wishes to show that while it is true that Husserl's concern is not with a single kind of reduction but rather with different kinds of reductions, the unique role of reducere (leading back) remains almost the same. So although it traces the paths Husserl thematized distinctly from one another, it also tries to deepen the unitary apprehension of the reductive operation. The first chapter of the study concentrates on the phenomenological analysis concerning the process of ?eidetic variation?. In the second chapter, Husserl?s understanding of ?natural attitude? is discussed. Finally, the third chapter focuses on the elucidation of the fundamental forms pertaining to phenomenological analysis, viz. the forms that push us beyond the natural attitude.
