Abstract (EN)
Key Words: Fundamental Unit, Continued Fractions, Infinite Continued Fractions, Periodic Infinite Continued Fractions , Pure Periodic Infinite Continued Fractions, Fibonacci Numbers, Lucas Numbers, Pell and Pell-Lucas Numbers, Diophantine EquationsThis study consists of five chapters. In the first chapter, some basic definations and theorems are given. In the second chapter, units in the real quadratic fields were examined. In the third chapter, finite continued fractions, infinite continued fractions, periodic continued fractions, pure periodic infinite continued fractions, and infinite continuous fraction expansion of ?d were investigated. In the fourth chapter, the fundamental units of the real quadratic fields were calculated. In the fifth chapter, solutions of some diophantine equations were given.
