Understanding of welfare state: Investigation of education, health, and social economic level at TR33 region

ABSTRACT UNDERSTANDING OF WELFARE STATE: INVESTIGATION OF EDUCATION, HEALTH, AND SOCIAL ECONOMIC LEVEL AT TR33 REGION YILDIRIM, Tuba Master's Thesis, Department of Public Finance Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Ahmet KARAASLAN July, 2014, 155 pages Welfare state is a form of state, which provides a minimum income guarantee to families and individuals, assists to citizens to overcome apparent social risks((illness, old age, unemployment, etc.), and ensures the best standard of living to all citizens by the way of social welfare services. The aim of this study is to make the understanding of welfare state's evaluation in particular to TR 33 Region in the Turkey, and increasing the contribution of welfare state applications in region, and bringing fundamental recommendations to resolve regional differences in order to contribute 2014-2023 Region Plans. There isn't any regional level investigation within the scope of welfare state understanding in the Turkey. With this study, literature has gained a different perspective by analysing the applications of welfare state understanding on a regional basis.
