Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, it has been attempted to critically discuss the language, literature and art-oriented perspectives of Refik Halid Karay in think pieces other than fictional texts. The scope of the pieces consists of his memoir, chronicle and humor books, his articles published in many magazines and newspapers between 1922-1965, his answers to the interviews and literary inquiries. Refik Halid is a writer and intellectual who witnessed the turbulent processes of Abdulhamid II, Constitutional and Republic periods. His these pieces not only involve all the crowd and variables of daily life, but also gain intensity in the fields of language, literature and art. A compherensive and detailed examination of the writings of Refik Halid, who has closely experienced the early Republic and its subsequent period, in which radical changes were experienced in the social structure, will shed light on the said stages, and also it will be meaningful in order to be able to read the codes of his own authorship poetics.
