Opinions of teachers working in rehabilitation centers on the participation of their families in the education process

Theaim of thisresearch is toexamineteachers' views on familyparticipation in specialeducation. Based on theimportance of familyparticipation in thespecialeducationprocess, thestudyseekstounderstandteachers' experiences, views, andsuggestions on thistopic. A qualitativeresearchmethod, contentanalysis, wasused in thestudy. Thestudygroupconsists of teachersworking in thefield of specialeducationduringthe 2023-2024 academicyear. Datawerecollectedthrough a semi-structuredinterview form developedbytheresearcherandanalyzedusingthecontentanalysismethod. Accordingtothefindings, teachersindicatedthatfamilyparticipation is veryimportantforstudents' academic, social, andemotionaldevelopment, but they alsopointedoutvariousbarriers (such as time, awarenesslevels, lack of communication, etc.) thathinderfamilyinvolvement. Additionally, teachersprovidedvarioussuggestionstoincreasefamilyparticipation. Based on thedata, recommendationsforfamilyeducation, strengtheningschool-familycollaboration, andsupportingteachers in thisprocessarepresented.
