Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to determine the views and suggestions of the Guidance and Research Center staff about noticing and educational diagnosis process of the individuals with learing disability. The design of the study is phenomenology, one of qualitative research methods, in an attempt to investigate the noticing and diagnosis process of the individuals with learning disability and the existing condition comprehensively. Within the study, semi-structured interviews was done with 12 participants, who Works in Odunpazarı İbrahim Kurşungöz and Tepebaşı Guidance and Research Centers in Eskişehir. According to the findings of the study, consulting Guidance and Research Centers because of suspicion of learning disability increases day by day. In spite of this increase, there are problems about the diagnosis of the individuals with learning disability. These problems are in general about; contradictions between medical and educational diagnosis, low awareness of the families and classroom teachers about noticing process, need for education of the staff of Guidance and Research Centers, inadequate assessment forms which can't distinguish the individuals with learning disability, inappropriate assessment settings, insufficient in service trainings of National Education Ministry about learning disability, and poor communication among the stakeholders. In this regard, some suggestions have been made to make the process much better.
