Abstract (EN)
The Effect Of Different Medicaments Used İn Regenerative Endodontic Therapy On Dentin Microhardness, Resistance To Fracture And Surface Morphology Aim: This study aimed to investigate the changes caused by 3 different medicaments, used in regenerative endodontic treatment, in dentin microhardness, fracture resistance, and surface morphology under in vitro conditions. Material and Method: 128 extracted maxillary incisors were used. Simulated immature dental samples were divided into two groups as Fracture(F) (n=84) and Microhardness(M) (n=44). Group-F was divided into 3-subgroups while group-M was divided into 2-subgroups. TAP, DAP, Ca(OH)₂ paste was placed into the samples in subgroup-F using a Lentulo spiral, while the samples in subgroup-M were divided into two parts in the buccolingual direction and embedded in acrylic blocks. They were treated with the same pastes. The samples were kept in the oven for 1 month. The fracture resistance and microhardness tests were applied and SEM images were obtained. Results: The order of the mean fracture resistance values is F-Control>F-DAP> F-TAP>F-Ca(OH)2. The mean fracture resistance values of the F-Ca(OH)2, F-DAP and F-TAP groups were significantly lower than the F-Control group (p<0.01). In the SEM images, the dentin tubules were observed to be closed in the F-DAP group. In the microhardness analysis, the lowest mean value was in the M-TAP (29.97±3.62 VHN) group and the highest mean value was in the M-Ca(OH)2 (41.17±2.37 VHN) group. The microhardness values are M-Control>M-Ca(OH)2>M-DAP>M-TAP. Conclusion: Ca(OH)2, among the pastes used in regenerative endodontic treatment, reduces the fracture resistance of the teeth. TAP influences dentin microhardness more negatively than DAP. The removal of DAP from dentin tubules is more difficult than Ca(OH)2 and TAP.
