Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is that to analyze women's representation comparatively in advertisements and other media texts. In the study, especially in advertising contents, it is tried to be revealed how women are represented socially. It is known that there are parallels with the cultural structure of the society in the creation of advertising content. This also exists for the other media texts. In other words, advertising and other media texts act/operate as a tool of cultural reproduction, and women's representation in this regard is an important example. Therefore, this study were analyzed through scientific methods in having two different historical background Turkey and Saudi Arabia television commercials and other television in the text, the positioning of women as a social indicator issues. As a result of the study, in parallel with different historical and cultural conditions, it has been revealed that there are important differences in the representation of women in advertisements and other television texts between the two countries.
