Abstract (EN)

The study aims to compare the factors influencing perceived health outcomes and life satisfaction in the participation of individuals living in Alanya in recreational activities based on demographic variables. While the sample of the study consisted of individuals in Alanya district of Antalya province, the study group consisted of 427 volunteer individuals, 203 men and 224 women, among the individuals selected by convenience sampling method who participated in leisure time activities in Alanya. Data collection tools used in the study include the "Life Satisfaction Scale," the "Perceived Health Outcomes in Recreation Scale," and a personal information form developed by the researcher that includes demographic information and recreation participation details. To determine the distribution of participants' personal information, percentages and frequencies were used whereas to assess whether the data follow a normal distribution, skewness and kurtosis coefficients were analyzed. To determine the differences between variables, t-tests and ANOVA tests were employed, and to determine group differences, the TUKEY test was used. Additionally, Pearson correlation analysis was done to examine the correlation between the mean scores of the scales, and regression analysis was used to determine the impact level. Cronbach's Alpha internal consistency coefficients were calculated to assess the reliability of the scales. In statistical analysis and interpretation of the data, a significance level of 0.05 was considered. The findings indicate significant differences in Life Satisfaction Scale (LSS) and Perceived Health Outcomes in Recreation Scale (PHORS) according to various demographic variables, with a moderate positive correlation between LSS and PHORS. Furthermore, an increase of one unit in life satisfaction leads to a 0.36 increase in perceived health outcomes in recreation.
