Abstract (EN)

The primary objective of this study was to examine the relationship between leisure time involvement and life satisfaction levels of individuals who attend recreational fitness centers. The study was conducted using a quantitative survey model, and data were collected using a "Personal Information Form" a "Leisure Time Involvement Scale" and a "Life Satisfaction Scale" The study group consisted of 458 individuals who attend various fitness centers in the Elazığ provincial center. Data were analyzed using the independent samples t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and the Tukey HSD test. Data were analyzed using the SPSS 26.0 package program. The level of significance was set at p<.05. The study results showed that young and well-off individuals prefer fitness centers. While no difference was found with respect to gender, leisure time satisfaction and life satisfaction increased with age. Weight, weight perception, and medical status had no significant effect on leisure time involvement and life satisfaction. High-income individuals were found to utilize their leisure time more productively and derive greater satisfaction from it. Weekly leisure time, regular exercise, and weekly fitness time did not significantly affect leisure involvement and life satisfaction. A positive and significant relationship was found between individuals' leisure involvement and life satisfaction. This suggests that individuals' attitudes toward leisure activities may be shaped primarily by subjective factors such as personal preferences, intrinsic motivation, and lifestyle.
