Relationship between cervical pain and temporomandibular dysfunction craniovertebral angle, jaw functional limitation and cervical mobility

Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted with 129 individuals (mean age 34.08:years, M/F=52/77) to determine the possible relationships between Cervical Pain and Temporomandibular Dysfunction, Craniovertebral Angle, Jaw Functional Limitation and Cervical Mobility. In our study, the Neck Pain and Disability Questionnaire was used to determine the frequency and severity of cervical pain symptoms and inclusion criteria. Fonseka Anamnestic Index was used to define TMD criteria. Cervical range of motion measurements were made with goniometer for Cervical Mobility Measurement. JFSL-20 questionnaire was used to determine the functional limitation of the jaw. Craniovertebral Angle measurement was made by photographic method. Statistical analysis. It was implemented in IBM SPSS Statistic 26 package program. As a result of our work; There is a statistically significant difference between the distribution rates of the FONSECA groups within the control and study groups. (χ2 = 13,171, p = 0.004 <0.05). There was no statistically significant difference between the control and study groups in terms of the rates of those with mild, moderate and severe disorders (p> 0.05). There is a statistically significant difference between the means of flexion of the control and study groups (t = 3.762, p = 0.000 <0.05). There is a statistically significant difference between the means of left lateral flexion of the control and study groups (t = 3.518, p = 0.001 <0.05). There is a statistically significant difference between the rotation left medians of the control and study groups (U = 1734.00, p = 0.001 <0.05). As a result of the analysis, there was no statistically significant difference between the mean of extension, lateral flexion and right rotation and the medians. (p> 0.05). According to the results of the t test, there was no statistically significant difference between the mean KVA values of the control and study groups. (t = -0.956, p = 0.341> 0.05). There is no statistically significant difference between the JFLS-20 averages (t = -0.956, p = 0.341> 0.05). Key words: Cervical pain , TMD, Craniovertenral Angle,Jaw Functional Limitation
