Abstract (EN)
Today, removing excess water in the form of emulsion from crude oil is the main problem of the oil industry. Emulsion formation in oil wells has reduced properties and increased the cost of refining. It also causes corrosion in pipelines, containers and insulators during the extraction of crude oil in brine reservoirs. The most effective way to solve the problem is to emulsify the crude oil with emulsifying agents. For this reason, emulsifiers are used in purification and refining processes that have a significant impact on the properties of crude oil. The use of demulsifiers in the water separation process can limit the corrosion rate in the oil industry. In this study, two new emulsifiers (S1 and S2) were synthesized and applied as emulsifiers at different concentrations. These synthesized surfactants, as dimulsifiers, are synthesized by ring chemical demulsification process based on naphthalic acid as the basic precursor material. FT-IR and 1H-NMR spectra were analyzed for characterization study. Additionally, the average of (CMC) and Hydrophilic – Lipophilic Balance (HLB) was determined. The synthesized emulsifying agents were applied to the water-in-oil emulsion at different concentrations of (50,100,150,200,250) ppm and the percentage efficiency of emulsification was determined. It was concluded that the separation efficiency of the synthesized surfactant could be arranged serially as S2 > S1
