Religious and moral values in the works of Reşat Nuri Güntekin and their investigation in terms of religious education

The Science of Religious Education is in close relationship with theology, educational sciences and religious sciences. However, the science of religious education is not only related to these fields. The object of religious education is human. So he/she cooperates/should cooperate with every discipline related to human. Literature is also a human product and is a large field whose object is human. The aim of our study is to reveal the reflections of the steps taken towards religion in the Republican period in the literary field within the framework of the works of Reşat Nuri Güntekin. The works of Reşat Nuri Güntekin, one of the writers of the Republic period, provide a great projection opportunity to understand and interpret the period. This study analyzes and interprets new and old type educators, education methods, religious officials and methods, religious characters in Reşat Nuri Güntekin's novels, stories, plays and other works, and mirrors what our author's point of view, the mentality of the period, and the ideas nourished by this mentality were. The authors and the works they created carry the mentality and atmosphere of the period. The source of the reforms made in the Republican period is the Constitutional Monarchy period. The years of the Constitutional Monarchy became the harbinger of the republic. The ideas and wishes of the intellectuals of the period were echoed in modern Turkey. While Islamism, one of the currents of thought of the period, was closed for many years, especially the ideas of Westernism and Turkism became the ground on which modern in particular; Much has been written for and against. In the first part of our study, we discussed the religious education and cultural policies of the period in general. In the second part, we examined the literature of the period and the life of the author. In the third chapter, we analyzed the new and old type teachers in the author's works, the methods they used in education, and the view of the madrasah and the sects. In the fourth chapter, we discussed the religious officials and methods in the author's works. In the fifth chapter, we examined the types who distanced themselves from religion and were not reflected negatively.
