Abstract (EN)

As it is well known, the main objectives of non-circular gears are ratio variations, axle displacement oscillations, and even more. These objectives give non-circular gears special and unique functions in several places in the industry where there is a need for a movement with special properties. Since discovering non-circular gears (NCG), designing them was considered as a dilemma, because of the complicated shapes of the centrodes which comes with extreme difficulty in finding the teeth's profiles. In this thesis, this dilemma was solved in a sample way depending on the logical framework of meshing between the non-circular gear being under cutting and the cutter tool from one side, and on the main definition of the Involute and Evolute of the curves. This result was achieved by applying the theory of gearing for finding the involute profiles of every tooth of the non-circular gear after finding the centrodes of gear of the non-circular gearset being in meshing. All the special types of non-circular gears (elliptical gears, eccentric gears, logarithmic gears, square gears, and triangular gears) were designed in this way, in addition to the general case. Also, software code for geometry generation (in MATLAB) for all the special cases and general case were developed. The outputs of the software codes enable us to cut non-circular gearsets by any suitable cutting method.
