Abstract (EN)

From their first appearance to today, cities have been a research subject for a variety of areas from positive sciences to art. The changes aiming to have a more comfortable and free life lead up to have today?s form during and after the 19th century, with the reign of capitalist system and the improvement of industrialization. Artificial places created in the cities and the formations during the historical process improved the imagination by the increase of production capability. There have been many civic images to the recipients in this created environment. Cities ,with this images, have had reflections on the art by means of positive or negative stimulus on the artist from the modernization process of the cities to today. It is possible to say that artist perceive the cities, which are the true places of modernization, as a visual object with the dynamism, and aesthetic values inducing imagination in them. Taking the backseat of individual, the subject of the city, when trying to keep up with the social, political, economic, psychological problems of modernization era and the chaos occurred due to the improvement of technology during the enlightenment process is one of the most important facts to be considered. Having effects on the art of Individual?s existence in the city places and being shaped by the city and besides this the current system that provides us to get the connection between the past and the future is going to continue as it is today.Keywords: City, Civic İmages, Place, Modernization
