Özet (EN)
Since the dawn of human existence, painting has been regarded as a profound form of visual expression that renders thoughts and emotions visible within an aesthetic framework. From the walls of prehistoric caves to the halls of modern art galleries, painting has served as a visual language reflecting the intellectual, cultural, and social fabric of every era. Over time, painting has also become a vital source that nourishes the formal foundations of other artistic disciplines. Cinema, in particular, has developed its own aesthetic language through elements inherited from painting—such as the balance of light and shadow, harmony of color, use of perspective, spatial composition, and overall sense of structure. By drawing upon the aesthetic principles of painting, filmmakers have approached their scenes with a painterly sensibility, deepening the visual expressiveness of cinema. The concept of intermediality in art reveals how interactions between different artistic disciplines occur on both semantic and formal levels. Thus, the reinterpretation or transformation of signs produced in one art form within another is closely related to the idea of reproduction in art. The cinematic transposition of pictorial references through acts of reproduction not only sustains the continuity of visual memory but also exemplifies the permeability between artistic forms. This study analyzes the reflections of painting in cinema, focusing on how reproduced images in films become not merely visual reproductions but intellectual acts of re-creation. The findings demonstrate that painting exerts a significant influence not only within its own discipline but also on cinema as a multifaceted art form. Ultimately, the visual and conceptual interaction emerging from the convergence of painting and cinema enhances the aesthetic value and expressive power of both arts, making the universal and transformative nature of art once again visible.
