Literary and intellectual developments in the Resimli Ay magazine (1928-1930)

The purpose of this study that covers the intellectual and artisticactivities taking place around the Resimli Ay magazine is to explore theposition of the magazine in the Turkish artistic and intellectual life by the helpof chosen texts.In the introduction chapter, a general evaluation of the period is givenin social, political and cultural aspects. The information about the status ofthe Turkish literature in the 1923-1938 period and the magazines publishedin this period alongside with the Resimli Ay magazine are presented in thefirst chapter. The second chapter deals with the structural features and theauthors of the magazine. In the third chapter, the classification andelaboration of the articles take place. The articles seperated mainly as literaryand intellectual are further classified under different captions according totheir subjects. In the last chapter, a general evaluation is made based on thearticles studied, and the intellectual structure of the magazine and what ittried to do are analysed.
