Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the water absorption, desorption and solubility rates of resin cements with three different polymerization mechanisms. DVS Intinsic was used for weight changes due to absorption and desorption, GC/MS and HPLC device was used for the amount of residual monomer (TEGDMA, HEMA, UDMA, BPA, and DL-CQ) released. Variolink Esthetic LC (VLC), Variolink Esthetic DC (VDC) and Panavia V5 self-cure (PSC), and dual-cure (PDC) were used in the study. The weight change of the prepared samples was measured in DVS Intrinsic device for 5, 10, and 19 days in 0%, 90%, and 0% humidity environment, respectively. After a waiting period of one, 5, and 19 days, residual monomers released were measured by GC/MS and HPLC instruments. When weight measurement charts are evaluated for all resin cement; weight loss was lowest in the VLC, VDC, PDC, and PSC groups, respectively. The amount of monomer released from the resin cement was highest on the 5th and 19th days. Among the monomers whose release was investigated, DL-CQ was the least released monomer, while UDMA was the most released monomer. In the study, the weight loss and the amount of released residual monomer are less in the light-cured samples compared to the dual-cured and self-cured samples. In clinical applications, the use of light-cured cement may be recommended in cases where there are common indications for a light cure, dual-cure, and self-cure.
