Abstract (EN)
In the recent years, interest in systems that make human life easier has been increasing demand for renewable energy. In today's conditions, phones, tablets, sensors etc. low-power devices with or without batteries need continuous energy. Because of this need, alternative ways of obtaining low-power energy have become popular. Extending the life of the batteries used and the continuity of energy has become a necessary need for humanity. Low maintenance cost, long life and continuous energy source is one of the most important criteria required according to the demand of the devices and people used. Therefore, one of the most important methods that can be used now and in the future is to harvest energy from radio and microwave frequencies. In order to harvest energy, the energy of electromagnetic waves in a free state in the environment in which we are located is converted into a form that can be used by designing a circuit. This converted energy must be in the amount and efficiency that can be used. In the RF energy harvesting system, the goal is to capture electromagnetic waves obtained from sources broadcasting RF waves, and then collect the energy contained on these waves in the most efficient way with the help of appropriate antennas and transmit them to the amplifier and rectifier circuits by minimizing the loss. Parameters of antennas collecting electromagnetic waves in the air in the energy harvesting system, calculations used in the design of some antennas, factors affecting the working efficiency of the antenna were investigated. In order to harvest energy at high efficiency from electromagnetic waves broadcasting in the air, the value of the radiation power density depends on the power of the transmitter, the gain of the transmitting antenna, and the distance. The current geometric position of the circuit and its good positioning in the environment is one of the situations that directly or indirectly affects system performance. The antenna used in the RF energy harvesting should be used in smaller and portable applications than other types of antennas. In particular, the small antenna is an important criterionin the design of circuit systems that collect RF energy. In this thesis, the design of a microstrip patch antenna to be used in RF energy harvesting was realized by opening slits on the square patch and designing an H-shaped microstrip antenna. Parametric scans of the designed antennas were performed to achieve the best result. The results were compared by both simulation of the designed antennas and production of the optimal antenna. The results have shown that the antennas designed are suitable for use in RF energy harvesting.
