A study on compare of frames rigid and semi-rigid connections and effects on displacement

Keywords : Rigid, semi-rigid , Displacement. Even though the semirigidity concept was introduced many years ago, steel structures are still designed by assuming that beam to column joints are either pinned or rigid. These assumptions simplify calculations very much but disregard joint behavior. The aim of this thesis is to study semi-rigid joints according to their calculation methods and behavior which became an unavoidable concept and to compare analysis of frames with semi rigid joints with others and the effects of on displacement. In this thesis we try to study about calculations of semi rigid joints which depend on a lot of parametres. The T stub method was used.and the results of these numerical examples are examined.
