Abstract (EN)

Many fishery harbors facing problem in the world and in our country suffer from shoaling. In this thesis, field studies, which include sea and land measurements, have been performed at various times to investigate the shoaling problems in three fishery harbors in the Eastern Black Sea Region of Rize Province in Turkey. In order to determine the sediment properties of the regions, sand samples were taken from various places and depths and laboratory studies were carried out. On the other hand, wind data are analyzed and wave properties are determined corresponding to field studies. The data obtained from field studies are digitized. Bathymetry maps are drawn for each measurement at various times and accretion and erosion volumes are calculated with reference to the first measurement. All fishery harbors were examined in separate regions. According to the result of field studies, Derepazarı Sandıktaş fishery harbor has been facing serious shoaling problem. It has determined that approximately 13200 m3 accretion occurred annually in the basin of this fishery harbor. Dredging cost are also calculated in detail for Derepazarı Sandıktaş fishery harbor. With the evaluation of the field studies, general assessments, such as the processes of sedimentation, improper positioning of breakwater and mislocation of fishery harbor, have been made on the possible causes of the problem.
