The role of commanders in Mongol campaigns

This study is a compilation created with the aim of examining the commanders who made the Mongol Empire, which left its mark on history under the leadership of Genghis Khan in the 13th century, successful in its campaigns. The purpose of this study is to examine the role of the commanders who served in the Mongol Empire during the campaigns and to identify and interpret the reasons for their actions based on the necessary information. Accordingly, the military structure of the Mongol Empire will first be discussed, followed by information about the campaigns and a discussion of the reasons for the commanders' actions. The sources used throughout the study consist of works from the period in which they were written to the present day, and in addition to the original Turkish and English sources, there are Turkish and English translations of Persian, Russian, and Chinese sources from the period.
