The subject of this study is how the ancient city of Nikaia supplied the water that the city needed in the Roman period. One of the ancient authors, Vitruvius's Ten Books on Architecture, became the main source of this study as it gave important information about water supply in the Roman Period. Since the current city of Iznik was located on the ancient Nikaia City, the aqueduct in Lefke Gate was emphasized in the study. Lefke Kapı Aqueduct is very important for the city's water supply. In Sukemeri and its canal, examinations and digital scans of the aqueduct were carried out within the scope of student work permitted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums. As a result of the investigations, it was concluded that cut stone, rubble stone, brick, lime, mortar and re used materials were used in the construction of the aqueduct. The Nikaia water system was used actively from the time of Emperor Hadrian until the mid 20th century. In the 16th century, travelers who visited the city wrote that the aqueduct was neglected.
