Abstract (EN)
Poverty is the situation where the individual has limited or no access to the financial resources necessary to sustain his or her life. Poverty is a phenomenon that emerges in a variety of fields, and therefore it is circulating in various fields. By examining what is under the headings such as elderly, disability, women and immigrant poverty, poverty is seen in the picture in many more subjects and areas. One of them is child poverty as a special examination of poverty. Child poverty, family poverty and the presence of family within the family is a state of poverty and deprivation. There is a historical type of poverty due to ethnic and cultural characteristics. Roma poverty is such poverty. The Roman child is interpreted as a poor child while the child is poor. The aim of this study was to investigate the causes and consequences of the abstinence of the Roma children in the Tavşantepe neighborhood. It was examined whether poverty in the research area is related to individual or social reasons. As a result of this study, it was aimed to investigate the causes of child poverty and consequent consequences of the poverty of the family. For the purpose of the study, the literature was searched by using the keywords önceden Poverty, Child Poverty, Novel Poverty, Novel, Gypsy Roman and previous studies were examined. Field research was conducted through interview interviews and NVIVO12 qualitative data analysis method was used in the research analysis. The universe of research; It is a district of Tavşantepe which is a Roma neighborhood of İzmit District in Kocaeli. Sample; the Roma who reside in this neighborhood are ethnic and cultured households with children and children aged between 7 and 18 years. As a result of the research; It is understood that there are individual reasons and social reasons as the cause of Roma child poverty. It was concluded that the most effective reason for individual reasons is the ethnic and cultural characteristics that are owned by it. It is due to the result of the disappearance of the occupations they have because of capitalism and globalization rather than individual reasons.
