Investigation of the relationship of dual harmony with the level of belief in sexual myths and sexual functional disorders in individuals with romantic relationship

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between couple adjustment, belief in sexual myths and sexual dysfunctions. In this research, 370 people (197 women and 173 men) were reached by convenience sampling method. The research was conducted with a quantitative method. Sociodemographic Information Form, Revised Dyadic Adjustment Scale (YCUS), Sexual Myths Form (CMF), Golombok-Rust female and Golombok-Rust male (GR) forms were used to measure variables related to the research topic. As a result of the research, statistically significant relationships were found between dyadic harmony, level of belief in sexual myths and sexual dysfunctions. In this study, the prediction of dyadic adjustment by sexual myths and sexual dysfunctions in women and men was tested with hierarchical regression analysis. It was found to be significant in the study conducted with both variables. However, when the sexual myths sub-dimensions are analyzed, the explanation rate is 22%, but when the sexual dysfunction sub-dimensions are added, it explains 63%. The findings obtained in this research were discussed with their consistency and limitations in the light of other studies in the literature, and suggestions were made for future research.
