Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of coronal flaring on canal transport in S-shaped simulated resin blocks in two different single file systems with rotation and reciprocal motion. In the study, 48 S-shaped simulated resin blocks were stained and photographed using black ink. The blocks were then randomly divided into four groups: Group A (OC) (n = 12), Group B (OR) (n = 12), Group C (OF + OC) (n = 12) and Group D (OF + OR) (n = 12). Simulated canals were prepared according to the NiTi file system and photographed again after staining with red ink. The pre- and post-preparation images were superimposed and the amount of resin removed from both the mesial and distal side of the canal was measured from the apical foramen to 10 mm in a 1 mm increment. The preparation time was also calculated. The data obtained were statistically analyzed. No significant difference was observed between all groups in terms of transportation (p>0.05). The groups with coronal flaring showed statistically significantly higher transport values than the groups without coronal flaring (p<0.05). There was no significant difference in transport between single file systems with different kinematics (p>0.05). Significantly higher shaping times were observed in the groups using both coronal flaring files (p<0.05). Similar transport was observed between two different single file systems with different kinematics. No significant effect of coronal flaring on transport was observed.
