Özet (EN)
Wind energy is a clean renewable energy and does not depend on fossil fuel. Wind power plants do not have air polluting emissions. In conventional power plants, these kind of emissions causes greenhouse effect, acid rain and global warming.Although wind energy is the most economical solution in renewable energy systems, it is still expensive to compete with the conventional power plants. The biggest problem in wind power plants, is the foundation and installation costs. One other disadvantage is the instability of the wind. Without an interconnection to grid, isolated wind power systems, have instability and flicker problems. These problems are being solved with the development and improvement of the new technologies in power electronics. Bidirectional power converters can provide fixed voltage, fixed frequency outputs in variable wind conditions. In this thesis, the wind energy systems are studied from the view of electrical machinary and power electronics and isolated system with self excited induction generator has been realized.
