Generation of electricity using wind energy

Wind energy, one of the renewable energy sources is becoming importantbecause of the diminished fossil fuel reserves. In recent years the use and thedevelopment of the wind energy has grown up extensively. After 1977 Kyotoprotocol, the developed countries reduced the energy obtained through the useof fossil fuels and the gasses produced that caused intense climatic changes allover the earth. The increase of the wind energy studies and researches reducedthe manufacturing and installation costs of the wind energy equipment byalmost 50 % in the last 15 years. When the Renewable Energy SourcesRegulation are completed, in Turkey, the studies in wind energy will further beaccelerated. The advantages offered by the wind energy has spread up the use ofpermanent-magnet generators.In this thesis, it is aimed that the design and construction of a wind energysystem complete with its wind turbine and its generator which will be sufficientfor the electrical needs for dwelling.
