Abstract (EN)
S235JR steel was coated with hot dip galvanization method and its resistance to corrosion and the effect of the coating on the material in the corrosion environment were investigated. Galvanizing process was carried out at 445-465 °C. After metallographic preparation of the coated samples, the coating layer cross-section was characterized using optical microstructure and microhardness analysis methods. According to optical microscope analysis, the coating layer thickness increased depending on the process temperature and time. As a result of microhardness analysis, the surface hardness of the coating layer was determined as maximum 458 HV. As a result of the obtained results, it was observed that the coating process improved the material surface properties and increased the hardness values depending on the temperature and time parameters.
