Utilizing the method and data within the scope of text linguistic, this thesis attempts to explain the textuality of the story Orange, one of the latest works of Sabahattin Ali, in terms of coherence. In the first chapter of the study, the aim, theoretical framework, method and limitations of the study are addressed. The terms and concepts related to linguistics, text linguistics, the standards of text and textuality are described within the theoretical framework. The standard of coherence addressed in general terms as a standard of textuality within the theoretical framework is described in detail in the second chapter. The third chapter consists of the review of the story Orange and the analysis of the text of the story. The elements of coherence are indicated with the relevant examples, while analyzing the text. The examples related to coherence are described in accordance with the structural and functional properties of Turkish. In the fourth chapter, the findings obtained through the text analysis are reviewed with the linguistic viewpoint. From this viewpoint, the conclusions drawn on the elements of coherence in the story Orange and Sabahattin Ali's use of language are presented.
