Abstract (EN)

Using of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) becomes more and more widespread in conjunction with developments in microprocessor technology and production of powerful magnets. PMSM has advantages compared with other motor because of their simple structure, high efficiency, and high power rate obtained per unit volume. v/f, Field Oriented Control (FOC) and Direct Torque Control (DTC) are the control methods used for PMSM drives. Since FOC achieves more performance and more high dynamic response than the other methods, DTC have been recently widely used as a control method for PMSM.In this thesis, the simulations of the DTC control method and the FOC control method of PMSM were carried out in Matlab/Simulink. The obtained results were analyzed. One of the best important disadvantages of hysteresis DTC method does not provides the valid results at a fixed switching frequency. In order to get rid of the problem in this thesis, it was proposed a structure in which a fixed switching frequency can be obtained by using genetic algorithm as different from literature. Simulation results relating to the proposed structure were presented. The DTC method with space vector modulations has been widely using at the control of PMSM because of operating at their fixed step switching frequency. However PI control in the DTC method does not meet all requirements for variable operating conditions. In which big moment ripples and unstable separating cases comes out. In this thesis, the speed parameters and the moment controller parameters were improved by using only a Feedforward Neural Networks (FNN). Therefore the obtained FNN controller removed the appeared problems due to PI. An adaptive PI controller was thus designed. In order to experimentally realize the DTC and FOC methods, an experimental drive system using DSP 1103 Ace Kit was designed. Both experimental and simulation results were evaluated together. It was observed that the DTC method for the control of PMSMs achieved better performance compared to the other. Keywords: Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor, Direct Torque Control, Field Oriented Control, Matlab/Simulink, DSP
