Özet (EN)

The clearance between the punch and the die plays an important role in thecutting process. The selection of the clearance will influence the life of the die orpunch, the cutting force, and the dimensional precision. In this study, anexperimental study was carried out to examine the effect of different clearanceson smooth-sheared depth, burr height, fracture depth and roll over depth.Aluminium sheet metal, stainless steel sheet metal and DKP sheet metal with 2,3, and 4 mm thicknesses were used in the experiments. These experiments werecarried out in cutting dies to 18x22 mm dimensional. Eleven different clearances(0.06, 0.09, 0.10, 0.12, 0.14, 0.15, 0.20, 0.21, 0.28, 0.30, and 0.40 mm) were usedfor every material and thickness. The results of the experiment show that burr,smooth-sheared, fracture depth, roll over depth, material and thickness isstrongly related to the clearance value. Especially, the results of the experimentshow that the ideal clearance value changes the sheet metal thickness andproperties.
